FT.Garry/Ft.Rouge Twins announce new coaching staff



The Fort Garry/Fort Rouge Twins are pleased to announce the hiring of Carson Shields as the head coach. Carson brings along assistants Neil Dawson, Cameron Craig & goaltending coach Bill Pigden. Cameron will also serve as the assistant to General Manager Mike Ashley. 

 

Carson Shields - Head Coach
Carson grew up in River Heights and played his minor hockey with the AA Assiniboine Park Rangers and AAA Winnipeg South Monarchs. Carson graduated from Kelvin High 
School where he was an assistant captain and a WHSHL All Star. He played junior hockey in the MJHL, SIJHL and MMJHL. In 2007-2008, he won the SIJHL Championship with the Dryden Ice Dogs and the Community Service Award. He has served as an assistant coach with the Transcona Railer Express and Kelvin High School. Most recently, he was the head coach of the AA Minor Peewee Twins.

 

Neil Dawson - Assistant Coach
Neil grew up in Crescentwood and graduated from Kelvin High School. He played AA for the Fort Garry Twins before moving on to the AAA Monarch program. Neil played in 
the MJHL with the Winnipeg South Blues and Selkirk Steelers from 2000-2004. In 2001, he was named to the MJHL All Star Team. Neil was an assistant coach with Kelvin 
High School and the AA Minor Peewee Twins.

 

Cameron Craig - Assistant Coach/Assistant General Manager
Cameron has previous coaching experience with the Interlake Lightning AAA Bantam, Twins AA Bantam, various Manitoba Hockey Development Spring organizations & the 
Manitoba Program of Excellence. Most recently he was the head coach of the Vincent Massey Trojans high school program the past 3 years. He was named Winnipeg High School Hockey League Coach of the year this past season. He is entering into his third summer owning and running an off-season conditioning program for high school/AA/AAA players he started with two partners called Rise and Grind conditioning camp. Cam also has playing experience in the MMJHL with the Raiders program.

 

Bill Pigden - Goaltending Coach
Bill played AAA with with the Winnipeg Hawks & Interlake Lightning, followed by 3 years in the MMJHL. He had previously been the goaltending coach with the Vincent Massey Trojans high school program the past 3 seasons.
